The Disability Pension
The disability pension was established at the federal level in 2019 during the Fourth Transformation Government. Beneficiaries initially received an amount of 2,550 pesos, which increases continuously in relation to inflation.
In 2024, the social investment will amount to 27.86 billion pesos to enforce this right; the cumulative six-year total will be 111.396 billion pesos.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated in a morning press conference that one of the priorities for the remaining term is the implementation of Well-being Programs.
“No well-being program should disappear; they should all be maintained and receive more budget. Well-being programs will go from 500 billion pesos to nearly 800 billion pesos this year—what people receive by right directly,” he affirmed.
